With the health and safety of our community in mind during the ongoing pandemic, we have made the decision to postpone our 2020 International Chordoma Community Conference. The conference will now be held on July 16-17, 2021, at the Boston Marriott Cambridge Hotel. We are disappointed that the conference cannot be held as planned, but the most important thing is that we all stay healthy.

About the conference

The International Chordoma Community Conferences (ICCCs) include opportunities for chordoma patients and caregivers to learn, connect, and take action. We host ICCCs once every other year in the days following our International Chordoma Research Workshops (ICRWs), which bring together multidisciplinary researchers and doctors to advance the work being done to cure chordoma.

ICCCs include sessions designed to help participants learn about chordoma treatment advances and gain practical skills to help manage the challenges brought on by chordoma. The conferences provide unique opportunities for patients and caregivers to learn directly from leading chordoma doctors and researchers, including members of the Foundation’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Boards. They even include a time to ask questions about the latest treatment options and research.

The conferences are also a time for patients and their loved ones to connect with peers who share similar experiences and take action to achieve our shared vision for a better future for those affected by chordoma. Over the past 12 years, these conferences have brought together hundreds of people from around the world to face the unique challenges of chordoma together. Our hope is that participants come away more informed, connected with a supportive community, and empowered to take on life with chordoma.

2021 program

Join us at the Boston Marriott Cambridge Hotel beginning the afternoon of Friday, July 16, 2021, for our opening sessions, where patients and caregivers will have the opportunity to break into small groups and meet others whose experiences with chordoma are similar. The opening sessions will be followed by a reception and dinner for ICCC and ICRW participants, during which Uncommon Awards will be presented to members of the patient and the medical community.

Saturday, July 17, 2021, will be a full day of programming at the Marriott. This year’s conference will focus on an array of topics including:

• the Foundation’s role in driving chordoma research 
• clinical trials
• survivorship planning 
• pain management
• emotional and peer support 
• community fundraising
