- radiation oncology
- medical oncology
- palliative care
- integrative medicine
- survivorship care
When you or a loved one are dealing with chordoma, you face a unique set of challenges. But you don’t have to face them alone. Our community conferences can help arm you with the resources and skills you need to navigate them. Since 2015, we have hosted regional conferences in partnership with a number of leading medical centers across the United States and Europe to bring the latest updates in chordoma research and care to patients and caregivers in their own communities. Whether you are a patient, survivor, caregiver, or loved one, Chordoma Community Conferences bring our community together to:
- learn about the latest advances in chordoma research and treatment
- connect with others whose experiences are similar
- understand the many ways we can work together to achieve a better future for those affected by chordoma
If you have any questions about the conference, please don’t hesitate to email us at email@example.com.
Step 1: Register
Thanks to our collaboration with MD Anderson, we are pleased to be able to offer this conference at $25 per person. This fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, and beverage service throughout the day. If you are registering more than one person, please note that each individual must register separately.
Step 2: Book your hotel
If you are traveling to Houston from out of town, there are many hotels near MD Anderson’s campus that offer discounted rates to MD Anderson patients and their family members. A list of these hotels can be found in the Travel section.
For your convenience, we have reserved room blocks with discounted rates at three area hotels for October 27 and 28: Houston Marriott Medical Center, Wyndham Houston Medical Center and Suites, and Jesse H. Jones Rotary House International. Please see the Travel section for more information about how to book, and note that these rooms are available on a first come, first-served basis.
Step 3: Stay tuned for schedule updates
Once you have registered for the conference, you will begin receiving emails as speakers and sessions are announced. The conference will begin with breakfast at 8 a.m. and will conclude around 5 p.m. Throughout the conference, you can expect to hear from Chordoma Foundation staff and a variety of MD Anderson’s medical professionals from disciplines such as spine neurosurgery, skull base neurosurgery, radiation oncology, medical oncology, palliative care, integrative medicine, and survivorship care. All sessions will take place on MD Anderson’s campus at 7435 Fannin Street, Houston, TX.
Step 4: Connect with other community members
Several community members typically organize a dinner the Friday evening before the conference or on Saturday after the conference. Please stay tuned for details.
In addition, a great way to connect with other members of the chordoma community is to interact on the Chordoma Survivors Facebook group, a private group started and moderated by chordoma community members. Email the group’s administrators at firstname.lastname@example.org to request access.
