Participants

The makeup of the conference proved that chordoma doesn’t discriminate: participants ranged in age from 12 to 70 and came from incredibly diverse backgrounds, representing 23 states, Canada, Portugal, and India. Several participants were 20-year veterans of chordoma, while others were newly diagnosed, or recently relapsed. Some were disease free and healthy, while others had permanent deficits or were struggling with the effects of their disease. The range of experiences and perspectives present at the conference was truly staggering, and made for lively discussions and bonding.

Special Recognition

We thank these generous and committed individuals for making the CCC a great success

» Carolyn Rubenstein, president of Carolyn’s Compassionate Children designed, coordinated, and funded the very special and impactful Chordoma Youth Conference for young people affected by chordoma

» Dr. Bill Dorland, professor of physics at the University of Maryland, generously contributed significant funding from the University of Maryland which made the CCC possible and kept registration fees low

» Sharon Berlan, a former department store executive, reached out to her contacts in the retail sector and secured hundreds of fabulous gifts for participants of the community conference and research workshop.
