During the month of March, fifth-graders at North End Elementary in Roxboro, North Carolina are asking parents, neighbors, and local businesses to make a donation to the Chordoma Foundation for each book they read. Some students have already read more than twenty books! Students are also encouraging
Students are also encouraging family to buy cards and paper from the Chordoma Collection at Celebration Cottage, which features artwork from young chordoma patients and the children of parents suffering with chordoma. Celebration Cottage donates 50% of the entire order directly to the Chordoma Foundation.
On Tuesday, March 18th, Josh Sommer visited the fifth-graders at North End Elementary, and talked with the students about cancer and the promises of medical research. The students came prepared with lots loads of questions and abundant curiosity. Next year fifth grade teacher Tara Holmes hopes to expand the read-a-thon to include the entire school.
