Non-cash Donations Gifts of non-cash assets may offer valuable tax advantages. We can work with you to accept a variety of assets including:
- Securities: we can accept gifts of publicly traded stock, publicly traded bonds, closely held stock, restricted stock, partnership interests (including family limited partnerships), mutual funds, and certificates of deposit. The full fair market value is deductible as a charitable contribution up to 30% of your adjusted gross income, potentially avoiding capital gains taxes on the appreciated portion of your gift.
- Real estate: gifts of real estate such as a house or other personal residence, farm, commercial building, and undeveloped land that you have owned for more than a year entitle you to a tax deduction for the fair-market value of the property, while allowing you to avoid paying capital gains tax.
- Personal property: we can accept gifts of personal property, such as artwork and jewelry. After expenses and the liquidation of the personal property, the full value of the gift is available to support the mission of the Chordoma Foundation.
Legacy Donations
There are many ways to leave a legacy to support the work and mission of the Chordoma Foundation. They include:
- gifts left in your will
- annuities that provide income to you during your lifetime
- life insurance
- gifts made through retirement plans
- real estate and other property
- memorial gifts for loved ones
