How You Can Help
We view the roughly 40,000 chordoma patients throughout the world as team-members in our quest for a cure.
We also appreciate the kindness and generosity of the many people not affected by chordoma who have been
inspired to support our mission to cure chordoma. Working together, we can accomplish great things.

Encourage people close to you to donate
Write letters and make phone calls to family, friends, congregations of worship, sororities/fraternities,
co-workers, etc. Explain the sense of urgency you feel to find a cure, and ask those who care about you to
help YOU bring about a cure for chordoma - it's a worthy effort and a powerful statement. Ask your friends
and family to match your own personal donation - if they see that you are digging deep, they are likely to
do the same. Remember the power of numbers; if 20 of your friends and family give $100 that's $2000! Just
think: if each one of us raised $2000, that would be several million dollars towards research. For more tips
about fundraising download our
Fundraising 101 guide.
Request a matching gift from your employer
Many companies encourage their employees to donate through matching gift programs and payroll deductions.
This essentially doubles the impact of your donation. Contact your personnel office for specific information.
If you don't work for a company with a charitable program do you know someone who does that might be willing
to donate?
Hold a fundraising event
Fundraising events are a good way to raise money, have a good time, and generate community support. Some event
ideas include: dinner parties, car washes, bake sales, runs, walks, dance-a-thons, and read-a-thons.
for more ideas and for help with your event. We respectfully request that all individuals wishing to organize
a fundraiser submit a written proposal as soon as possible, prior to their event. This will allow us to assist
you in the planning process, and also helps us comply with IRS regulations for non-profit organizations.
Recruit business sponsors
Think about the places you shop, dine, and do business. Do you have a relationship with any of the staff or
owners? Businesses large and small frequently donate a portion of their profits to a good cause - it helps
if they can put a familiar face with that cause. Businesses to consider: dry cleaner, restaurant, grocery
store, florist, bank, credit union.
Refer large donors
Do you know someone who might be interested in making a major donation? We realize that large donations
require careful thought and planning so members of the Chordoma Foundation board are happy to answer any
questions. You can connect large donors with the Chordoma Foundation board by sending us an e-mail, or with
their permission, giving us the donors contact information.
Make in-kind donations or volunteer professional services
We are a growing organization with many needs. Every in-kind donation frees more money to go directly to
research. In order to keep overhead low and devote as much money to research as possible, we rely heavily
on donations and pro-bono professional services. Please
to discuss ways you can donate goods and services.
